Hi
I've used TT3 for some time - including the European maps - with no problems. Bought the TT5 upgrade - and installed the Great Britain Plus maps - and been using them without issue. I'm off to France next week so tried to install the France maps. I have tried various installation routes (tomtom setup straight onto the SD card, tomtom set up to PC folder - then drag them onto the SD card) - but whenver I go into navigator to switch maps, the only option is the great britain one.
Can anyone help? I've searched the forums and can't find any answers...?
Thanks in advance
Simon

You can open v3 maps with 5.000 by setting the last line of the PNA file to 562. But 5.100 will no longer allow that.

Hi Lutz
Thanks for your quick reply...
Why won't it open v5 maps - when I am using TT5....? The France maps are sitting pretty on the SD card - but navigator just can't see them to let me switch to them? I have deleted all TT3 stuff now...
Thanks again
Si

you are right, it should open v5 maps just fine. Try to re-install the map from CD directly to the storage card using a card reader on the PC.

I had a similar problem with my daughter's 1710. The SD card would be ok on my PDA, but would not read in hers. Turned out to be a speed issue as it was an old card, and the only solution was to buy a new higher speed SD card.

Hi all
Just a quick update. Tried a 256mb card (not the Kingston 512mb I'd been using). Just installed the French maps on it - put it in the IPAQ - started Navigator - and the message came up - no maps found...? It seems it can only find the Great Britain maps....
I ruled out the card (both of them) and the Ipaq. Is it some setting on TT5....?
Thanks again
Si

Simon

Very strange, I'm running the exact same set-up as you iPAQ 2210, UK plus map and I installed the France map with no problems at all. Do you get the directory created on your Storage card ok, should be "France-Map" assuming it isn't the plus map your installing?

However in general use (ie not just after installation), I have once or twice seen this message and a soft reset was enough to clear it. Have you tried that?

Ahhh.... got an embarassing confession to make. I have many versions of TT. After buying a card reader and trying many installations of TT and the maps, I realised I was using TT3 maps with the latest version of Navigator! Fool so I am. Now got the lot working once I worked out which were the latest versions of the CDs (which aren't marked very clearly anyway!)
Thanks all for you help...
