I currently use CheckPOInt 3 with my iPAQ 2210 and TT5 (seems to work fine) but want to upgrade to CheckPOInt 5.

According to http://checkpoint.oabsoftware.nl/ however, I should upgrade from TT5 to TT5.1 first to allow the Software Developer Kit (SDK) files to work. On the other hand, searching http://www.tomtom.com/support shows that the TomTom Navigator 5.1 upgrade does NOT apply to the iPAQ 2210.

Confused! Confused

Please can those who have trodden this route before share some advice.

Many thanks.

I've been there..... I loaded 5.1 on my 2210 with trepidation after reading the update info and it works fine. No problems.
I loaded the latest CheckPOInt and it worked fine, once you got the hang of the syncronising, etc (being a devotee of CP 2.0.2) with the exception that the warning screen, which was much bigger than CP202, flickered, to such an extent that I had to take it off. I have now reverted to the inbuilt POI warnings.

Well, nearly everything works after the 5.1 upgrade! ;-)

The only remaining problem is to get tttoday.dll(The today screen launcher for TomTom) to work.

My TomTom installation is on the SysOnChip CF card antenna that I use, so I copied the wzd.cab file from my original TT 5.0 CD to the TomTom folder on the CF card and then ran it.

I was asked if I wanted to reinstall TomTom today, to which I said "Yes", but the TomTom today icon does nothing exist beep when I select it.

Do I need to get a new version of wzd.cab for TomTom 5.1 perhaps?

can't help you there - I just run mine from the Internal memory of the 2210, with the maps etc. stored on the SD card.

Because it is sometimes a nuisance, some time ago I deliberately disabled "auto power off with inactivity" on my 2210. Yesterday, I paid the price when I appear to have pressed the power button (the others are locked when powered down) when the PDA was in my pocket; yes, a totally flat battery and the need to reinstall all my apps from scratch (no backup)

This was a blessing in disguise, because having reinstalled TomTom 5 and then re-run the 5.1 upgrade, tttoday.dll now works even though the application is on the CF card. The only difference this time is that rather than cut and paste the TomTom folder and file structure to the CF car, I installed it there directly having chosen to overrride the default installation directory.

Just thought I'd close the loop and share the outcome to thank those who helped me and perhaps benefit others with the same problem in future.
