Does anyone know if the TTN 5 and the Navman Copilot sleeve are compatible? My sleeve worked just fine with TTN 3? HELP!

The sleeve needs to be set to NMEA, and then in TomTom you need to select "other cable receiver" and specify the baud rate accordingly. TomTOm won't guarantee it, but it should work.

The NEMA will select automatically, the important thing is to set the baud rate to 4800. If its the same sleave as mine (which it sounds like it is) it will not work on any other baud rate.

Took me a lot of trial and error to discover this, so hope it helps some.

Oh one other thing which i forgot, and i am not sure if it is essential, but once i had installed TT5, i installed the Navman 3.1.6 serial drivers. I needed them for the Copilot jacket to work with TT3.

Try without first and see if it does work, failing that, you can download the drivers from:

Best of luck

Careful here - the Navman sleeve is fixed at 57600 while the CoPilot sleeve can handle anything between 4800 and 38400. The CoPilot sleeve doesn't need any drivers, the Navman sleeve does.

Yep my bad, should have read that the driver was needed for the Navman Sleeve to work and not the Copilot.

Thanks for catching that one before the OP answered

Aidi,

My copilot sleeve worked for about 15 mins with TT5 then I have not been able to get a GPS lock since. It's setup is as you said to 4800 baud and other NEMA devices in TT5. In your last post you wrote that the driver is not necessary for a copilot jacket but needed for a navman jacket. Mine would not even recognize a GPS device until i loaded a copilot driver.

Am i doing something wrong? Would it be better if i erased TT5 and copilot driver then loaded the driver fisrt then TT5?

Thanks

Ritesh
