I am not as much of an expert as some on here, and I have a different model ipaq but here goes, sorry for asking the obvious but have you actully paired the gps to the ppc? passcode 0000 I think. Also I found switching on in a set order usually gets me a fast fix once it is paired.

1 ipaq on
2 tomtom program on
3 gps unit on

The gps should come up with a solid green light when switched on and the ipaq screen will be greyed out and say something like gps signal lost (insert time here) ago
Then wait for the gps to aquire a fix (flashing green light)
Ipaq map comes to life in colour and hey-presto.

If this fails, close TTN5, open bluetooth manager, find the pairing, right click/hold stylus (whatever you call it) click connect then go in at step 2 as above.

If this fails try a soft reset of ipaq, and start at step 1 as above.

If THIS fails I think the gps unit may be , or more likely, I am a biff and haven't a clue about what I am talking about.

Hope this helps! If not feel free to leather me with a week old kipper!

I have a 6340 and was having difficulty getting it to recognise my bluetooth sat nav receiver (part of a Parrot kit not Tom Tom's own). I ended up telling Tom Tom it was a wired receiver on one of the serial ports and that worked. I subsequently was pointed to a part of the Tom Tom site that gave advice, which included that workaround - even gave the serial port number to use for different PDAs including the 6340. However not sure if it will work with Tom Rom's own receiver and can't remember its URL. Try looking round the Tom Tom site to find it.

The other thing to try is to upgrade the Ipaq's ROM, from here http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/HandheldiPAQ/us/locate/105_6137.html

I found mine was much more reliable working with Tom Tom once I had upgraded it.
