Unfortunately no, the only maps you can upload to the Garmin receivers are Garmin MapSource maps. You could use a Palm or Pocket PC and used scanned maps into a package like OziExplorer or Fugawi and use the Vista as the GPS feed for the PDA.

1) You'll need a two-part cable, one cable serves the GPS, the other the PDA, and they meet in the middle in a jack plug/socket. You'll need a GEPVX from PC-Mobile.net (just search on that page for GEPVX).

2) There's not a lot of software out for Palm, it depends what you want. If you want Street Routing, then TomTom RoutePlanner and TomTom CityMaps would be okay, and there's also Mapopolis. You can find reviews under our reviews menu

3) Fugawi have a Palm version available, but OziExplorer don't.
