You can use the free Safety Camera files from this web site but you will need to purchase POI-Warner, but if you had version 4 and purchased POI-Warner for that then the upgrade is free.

Purchase new route - approx 30 Euros:

http://www.navigating.de/MN5_en/POI/Index.htm

Upgrade for free route:

http://www.navigating.de/MN5_en/POI/Upgrade/Upgrade.htm

As far as I know there are no free programs that work with Navigon.

If you get POI-Warner you could then follow the guide on my web site by clicking the link at the very bottom of this post, then proceed from after installing POI-Warner.

The instructions for loading speed camera POI onto my Mio 168 running MN5 were perfect. Many thanks for taking the trouble to do these as there is no way I would have worked it out.

Has anyone got instructions for loading the Safety Camera Database using POI-Warner and Navigon MN5? I can find them for Tom-Tom but not for Navigon MN5.
Cheers! SG

you'll need to download POI Sync from this website.

Then open the files up in POI Sync and "Save As" an .asc file with EXACTLY the same name as the original .ov2.

Then copy the .asc file and the associated orginal .bmp file onto you PDA and activate them in POI Warner..

hope this helps.

I must be being a bit thick, as I can't work this out.

I've downloaded PoiEdit and selected 19 of the files from the PocketGPS Safety Database. I've saved these with .asc extension (general ascii) and exported them all the HD of my pc, so I have a directly full of .asc & bmp files.

This is where I get stuck!

I have copied the files to the PPC and put them in the pois directory under POI-Warner, but I can't work out how to load these in POI-Warner. When I go into POI-Warner and choose POI-Sync, POI-Selection, the only sites that it shows me are www.poihandler.com and www.pocketnavigation.de, neither of which I'm too bothered about using!

The instructions for POI-Warner are about as clear as mud???

Any help is most appreciated.

Cheers, SG

Silly question,

Is there any difference between the *.asc files created via POIEdit and the *.asc files that are included as standard in the pocket gps database zip file? I have been creating asc files for my gf's dad for the past few months (for him to use with Navigon 5 and POI Warner), until it occurred to me that I may be over complicating things?

Cheers

Chris
