My XDAIIi pauses regualarly (not just with Navigator either) and poping out the card brings it back to life. Sometimes when browsing the device the car is not showing as being there and watching videos on the card is hap-hazard, this is really looking more and more like a hardware issue with slow cards, or perhaps it could be a voltage issue as the Transcend 80x cards will run at quite low voltages.

Sandisk ULTRA II cards are 60x BTW.

I guess I need to front another £40 on another card then and see what happens.....

That should of course be the card is not showing as being there.

you are kidding mate i've spent a fortune on cards now 4 different cards and the latest i have is a kingston ultimate ,which i thought was the fastest you could get

The Ultimate is 60x I think. Have you tried it yet, or are you waiting delivery?

yep i've tried it and it locks up ,i just can't afford to keep bying these cards anymore
although i have to say it is a bit better than the others but i still get lockups tunbridge wells being the most problematic for me ,and had 1 lockup on friday on my way home as i forgot to turn the phone off
thing is this software should work no matter what sd card you have

try a standard speed kingston 1gb works for me

tyr value media there usually good on price the only problem is if i order i cant pick up there on 1/2 a mile from my house

What I can't understand is why I haven't heard of the users of the PDA iMate Version complaining about the problems we have with the xda2i.

After all there supposed to be the same but badged differently aren't they?

Well the I-Mate ROM made no difference. Perhaps they don't use TomTom?

well well with endless problems i got my Transcend 80x 512 card and guess what it WORKS PERFECTLY now i still cn't believe it ,it will need more testing though as i have only used it on a 40 mile jouney with about 6 updates and all worked fine ,only thing i havn't tried is recieving a call ..will test tomorrow as i have a long trip planned for work
but as of now it seems to work
update tomorrow night
