Switched on my TTGO this afternoon and got the sdcard with a red cross through it.
Hooked up to pc when I got home and found a strange list of files on the card:

EATA.c@c
EAV1A.Tep
EAV11.tep
EAV16.tep
EEP10.tep
EG
ePDAS@.bep
eS
SPDA@1.bep
SQSTEE
TGETGE.acg
TTSQSTEE

All files dated 01/07/05 with different times. Worked fine yesterday and its not being anywhere near my pc. Windows refused to let me delete the files or format the card in the go or a card reader.
Back to TomTom I thought, then I tried the card in my camera, windows once again refused to format the card. Managed to get the camera itself to format the card while not connected to my pc although it took well over 5mins to do instead of the usual 30 secs.

Anyone else had similar problem with their card going corrupt like this?.

My card went corrupt but not as seriously as yours. I could still see and edit the files in my card reader. My TomTom would show the red hands on boot about 90% of the time. If you kept on restarting it, it would eventually start and run properly.

After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing with the rubbish customer services, they agreed to replace the card. However it had taken weeks by this time so I bought another SD card (Kingston 512Mb) and did a fresh install of the CD. I've had no problems whatsoever since.

SD cards are quite inexpensive so I'd just get a decent replacement.

Luckily I have a handful of sdcards and even keep a spare one with the tomtom app and maps on in the car just in case. Good job I do, as I had no paper maps in the car today when the original one corrupted.
