Hi All,

I am doing a pan Euro trip real soon, could someone tell me, before i make the final GPS purchase decision for my few questions, I sent an email to Navman but as yet no reply.

How long do the batteries last on the ICN520.
Does it store bread crumbs on where you have actually travelled
How good are the maps off road i.e cross country

How easy are the maps to get hold off

Thanks
Jo

The battery should last 3-4 hours before it needs recharging. When the battery first warns of a low charge state it still has 33% of its charge left.

It will log your trips but these logs are really only of use to Navman, although you can display them on something like Autoroute.

The unit and maps aren't really suited to cross-country navigating. It is, after all, an In Car Navigation unit.

If you buy the Premium version you will get maps of 16 European countries. This is cheaper than buying the EU set separately, plus you get the remote controll, too.

From what I understand after a question to Navman, they have to replace the battery as it's fixed to the unit but should last a long time.

There is no need to take out the battery as it is rechargeable, either off the mains or 12volt car system. If and when the battary goes wonky after +- 1000 recharge cycles then you may need to send it off to Navman.
