Please can I ask someone who has splashed-out the £100 already for the extra european maps for TT Nav'5 on PPC what the coverage of Spain is like? Is it worth it? I was just thinking it would be nice to have my set-up with me when I get off the plane at Alicanti, into the hire car and then try to find the villa on the anual holiday.
I know it seems like a lot of money to splash-out and I am not sure how quickly the maps get really out of date but I supose at these prices you get free download updates for life. (Yeh in my dreams!!!!)
Why can't I just get the Spain bit? Is there coverage of the Balerics, Menorca, Ibiza, Mallorca????

The Spanish maps are quite reasonable for general navigation with 86% coverage according to TomTom.
The lack of detail is mainly in the smaller towns and villages, so if your holiday villa is off the beaten track you will probably only find the village, not the specific road you are looking for.
I can't see the Balearics on the map.

Not sure how TomTom measure the coverage, but I've just been to the Costa Blanca (Javea) with TT5. It would seem that if you use the UK extended map TT5 will pretty much get you to all the small/medium coastal towns, but only as far as the main drag.
I had to load the full spanish map to get all the side roads I needed to find the villa.

Thank's Roger. UK89Camero, what did you mean you had to load the full Spain map, have you got the full set of Euro maps?????
I did not upgrade from TT3 so I only have the UK maps.

Sorry Dave,
Yes I have the full european map sets on TT5. Not sure what you get for Spain on the TT3 maps, as I never tried them in them.

How Do I know if I got the full spain map. I upgraded from TT3 to TT5 and got a box of 6 cds....are these full maps?

As far as I know the UK map also includes major european routes. If you want all the detail you'll need to load the full map for the country you require.

On the 6 CD set you will find a Spain map which is just Spain, and an Iberia Plus map which is Spain, Portugal and the Major Roads of Europe. Thats all for Spain, just choose the one that suits your purpose best.
