|
|
I have a buyer for my N5 software which I don't want but I am not sure if it will work on another PDA.
I have my activation code which I got online at Navigon & I have taken the software off my PDA as I now use TT5 but will my activation code work on another PDA ??.
Thanks |

NO, each PDA will require a different code, trying to get this from Navigon could be a problem.
If and when you sell your copy of the software you will need to give/send/email a proper receipt with all the details on (including a copy of the original purchase), and also stating that you have completely removed from your PDA all of the software and that no copy has been made, the new owner will then have to send/email a copy of that to Navigon and hope they will then issue a new code, the new owner will also be require to register at Navigon or may need your details so that they can get to the MyNavigon part of the web site.
I would be tempted to contact Navigon by email and ask what you need to do for confirmation, but don't hold your breath. |

As the perspective purchaser, I emailed Navigon at 22.00 last night.
I got a response at 09.16 this morning telling me how to do this.
10/10 as far as I am concerned! _________________ Steve.

Can you post what they said? - I want to sell my Navigon system as well and it would be really useful to know what to do beforehand. _________________ Thanks,

This is the content of their response:
"in order to re-registrate please send us the hardware ID of the device as well as the software serial number with a agreement of sale. Please also include your full name and address."
I'll let you know how it goes! _________________ Steve.

If Navigon 5 is that bad, why would anybody want to buy it?

There's worse. I could let the wife Navigate.
Any of these phrases familiar?
1. "It was down there".
2. "The road isn't the right way up"
3. "oooh look at those lovely cutains".
4. "I know exactly where we are going" .......ten minutes later " were lost and it's all your fault".
Personally I like to get to my destination relaxed and more importantly alive (hard with "Zen" navigation from the wife) - Navigon can at least manage both these things. _________________ Thanks,

I would agree that the UI for MN4 and 5 is not the most modern in the known GPS world, however I have found the MN does actual do what is says on the box. Unlike TT5 (according to the forum) and COPILOT. |

Chris,
As an owner of a Garmn Sp3, Navigon 4.2 and a TT700 I have had chance to compare these units quite extensivley.
Firstly I'd have my Streetpilot any day over the Navigon - shockingly unreliable isn't the word.
But I'd have the TOMTOM over the lot.
The Navigon system has let me down more times than I can count on very important journeys. In my opinion the user interface is very basic yes but it gets worse.
Have you ever tried using the 3d option? I have one of the latest PDAs and even that couldn't run it. Not to mention regular sofware crashes and unexplained configuration changes.
I agree that Navigon HAD potential to be something special but all that has flown out of the window with their latest joke of a version release. _________________ Thanks,

Interesting. MN4 has been as stable as I could of asked for on my Mio 168. Even 3D mode works fine.
Nav software seems very fickle, some people have no problems, for others it's a nightmare
MN5 - wouldn't touch it. No Map Export and no new functionality |
