Ahh Hello fello Sat Nav Cats 8)
I was just wondering 8O If I bimble over to the US of A with my TTG armed with my GB maps would it be possible to save a favourite location by GPS position and then navigate back to that position? I know the TTG would not have maps but would it resort to pure direction with the compass? I know it's a long shot...................... |

I like your thinking!
Bet it won't work though
Surely someone could try it out for you who has maps of Europe. What happens if you unload the UK map and load a French map while you're still in the UK. That's the same situation that you're suggesting I think. |

When I put the USA maps in my tom tom here in England,it won`t let me navigate to anywhere- just says no usable locations.
I can plan journeys and browse the map though.
So I guess the answer to your question is no!!! |

I doubt it! Even if you save the GPS position as a favourite, how will it know which roads, when to turn left/right/straight etc to get back to that position without maps?!
I'm off to US next week armed with TomTom and US maps :D Looking forward to seeing how it goes |

I think it will just start up and hang with "waiting for valid GPS......." _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)
