How odd, the traffic data is back to 225 incidents and the same as Friday. The 32 incidents I posted about earlier must have been a blip.
The incident showing fog on the M4/J10 was definitely also showing on Friday afternoon.
So it definitely looks like traffic is FUBAR. |

Interesting - My question reporting the problem to Tomtom has been removed from their website - they obviously want to brush it under the carpet so I can only conclude they've really got themselves into a dreadful mess.
Be interesting to see Q3 profits as everyone starts demanding their money back!! |

Well mine started saying 199 incidents earlier and now 156. Also some of the incidents I know were no longer there have gone (e.g. the accidents south of Hereford).
Maybe they have fixed it for now.....? |

Mine worked fine today - routed me around a 2.5 mile tailback on the M1 due to an accident
I knew the tailback was there as I'd driven past it going the other way a few minutes beforehand.
Although....... I have to say the amount they charge for this service they should at least know if there is a problem with it - I noticed a patch of road on the M62 which was "stuck" with the same incident for a few days. It wasn't there because I was driving through it :x
Perhaps they should post a status update either on the website or through traffic itself if there is a problem - not good. _________________ Thanks,

I have a problem with Tom Tom as well it doesn't want to re-route round traffic jams. Even when it says there 30 mins delay it refuses to find another route.
I also spent a Friday 2 weekes ago parked in Jams on the M1 with my Tom Tom 5 telling me the route was clear! I don't think I will be buying it when the trial ends.... |

This is what TOMTOM told me when I asked the question :-

A planned route may still take you through a traffic jam if this is still considered to be the fastest way to your destination (i.e. faster than less congested alternatives).
Tip: As an alternative to using 'Replan' on the TomTom Traffic overview screen, you can use 'Minimise traffic delays' on the 'Find alternative' menu.
For more details of using Traffic please refer to the user guide thats on the CD provided with your 700 or its downloadable from our support website ( look under Plus services). |
Seems reasonable and I have to say it has routed me around a few jams when the delays have been serious enough.
Still doesn't impress me when it misses incidents though :x _________________ Thanks,

Yeah, that does sound reasonable, I have another week or so to run on the trial so will persevere. I am heading up north from London in an hour with a passenger who is going to look for obvious alternative routes for me when we hit the traffic... I wonder if the Tom Tom will beat him?! |

Post how you get on - I'd be interested to see if it actually does work. _________________ Thanks,
