Thats a nice piece of kit there. I also noticed the E90 communicator (brick phone) has a gps chip built in. Doesn't look like either of them are out yet though. Sad

Nokia wants you to use their own software. The maps are free, but voice guidance, etc are add-ons that cost you money. TT6 for smartphones doesn't have the ability to connect to built in GPS (yet).

Hello,

I bought recently N82 and need to install and run TT 6.0 on this phone. How should I install everything and what I would need for it. I have currently licence for TT Navigator 6.0 which is running on MioA701 (going for sale). I read somewhere I need Tomtom Home 1.3 version for installation which is not currently available on the internet. Need to choose suitable BT GPS for this mobile as well.

I am thinking about http://www.superetrader.co.uk/qstarz-btq818-bluetooth-sat-nav-gps-receiver-32-channel-32-p-2378.html however need confirmation that receiver in standby state won't cause any connection problems.

Please give me some ideas
Thanks
George

Hi and welcome!

You should be able to re-install from the original kit you had for the Mio. Copy the CAB files to a memory card, insert in your phone and execute the application install first and the map install second. You don't 'need' TTHOME to do any installation - it's just TomTom that would like you to use it. You then need to re-authorise the maps on TTCODE.com using the original information you had. TomTom allow you to upgrade the hardware you run it on. There are some time limitations to prevent fraudulent overuse of this faclity - but they shouldn't be of concern here.

Once you have it running on your new phone - delete it from your old phone - it's illegal to sell it on.
