Favorites On TOMTOM 3?

The best advice is not to use Favourites at all except for temporary locations.

Instead, create a POI Group and save your locations there, these are then created in the map folder on the storage card as 'yourPOIname.ov2' and will survive a hard reset as well as being easily copied to your PC for safe keeping.

For V3, to create your own POI.

In map view tap and hold the location you wish to save
Select ‘Add as point of interest’ then <new type> and enter the name you wish to use for the new group.

You can now save locations as normal but instead of 'Add to favourites' choose add to POI and selcet the POI Group you created.
