Hay mate,

Im a newbie when it comes to sat nav stuff so few questions :-)

I purchased the medion navigator from aldi in the UK and its running 4.75 version software.

Are you saying I can nuke this totaly and turn this into a tomtom version 5?

If so would you be prapared to show me how to do it, only reason i purchased this was because I couldnt afford the tomtom

Many thanks

I had a similar problem with my PPC250 (before it was stolen ) when I went from the Medion-supplied GPS application to Navigon Mobilie Navigator 4.2.

I used Leadtek's 'GPS Monitor' application (available on this site from the 'Downloads' section, if I remember correctly), to change the messages sent by the Royaltek GPS.

If you get the application 'talking' to the GPS and then go 'Tools - Command - NMEA', you'll be able to change what messages are sent , and how often.

I found the following to work OK:-

GGA 1 VTG 1
GLL 2 MSS 2
GSA 5
GSV 5
RMC 1

with all the User entries as 0.

Hit OK, completely exit and kill GPS Monitor, start you normal GPS application and see if you get the display you expect.

Downloaded the application here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=8

You are looking for the ce version.Download the application & active synch it to the Medion pda Start the application (be patiant) & you should get the programme talking to the gps antena. The settings suggested by Phil 4242 were spot on.
Exit the application & start tt5.Bingo sat signals being recieved on display screen of tt5.

I would like to thank phill 4242 for his post.

Hows the but kicking que looking Laughing

Having problems installing the thing,

I unzip all the cab files and when it comes to the ttn.cab i click on it and it points to the DIR to install it to then bombs out.

all the other cab files were ok , wzd.cab, gps.cab , PIMAddin.cab

Any clues?

Problem is,

I've downloaded 3 different tomtom navigator 5's now and none of them work on my medion.

Here's the exact model of mine.
