Apparently the Clear 2A unit is OK. The 3A Cerise units have been changed for some people, so presumably there is a fault with them. _________________ Richard

This has me a tad puzzled. I thought the dodgy car chargers were the ones that were only marked 12V, whereas the good ones were 12V/24V. I have a 12V/24V charger with a the 3A cerise fuse cover, as supplied with my Go Classic, bought last year. While I generally only use the internal battery, to keep the wire count down (I have an external aerial too) I have been using the car charger continuously over the last week on holiday without any difficulty. Have I got a"high risk" charger? I'm quite happy to buy a new one if necessary, as my Go is getting to the end of one year and it is bound to blow up one day after the warranty expires... |

Had this reply from TomTom yesterday. I have a 3A Cerise fuse so was somewhat worried.
Dear Mr ....,
There wil always be cases where units get damaged because of spikes, but there is no general fault that we are aware of. What we sometimes do, is that when the unit has obvious burn damage, we replace the cable as well as a safety measure, just to make sure. Spikes will sometimes also cause damage to the cable, causing it to provide the wrong voltage.
With best regards,
The TomTom Customer Support Team
