Has anynody noticed on the new Tom Tom 5 mobile how it treats motoway distances differently to Tom Tom 4. E.G. i live in liverpool and travel to manchester a bit on the m62, with Tom Tom 4 once on the M62 it would give you the distance to the M602 which was the next turn off basically, however with Tom Tom 5 when entering the M62 it gives the distance to the next motorway intersecting the M62 which is like 4 miles, then when it passes that motorway it gives the distance to the next motorway intersection and so on, (sorry to be long winded but could not think of a way to explain any easier). Anybody any idea why its done this way. Personally i prefer Tom Tom 4's method.

Just done a demo and I see what you mean in this instance. The important thing to remember is that the countdown is to the next instruction. The junctions you pass from Liverpool to Manchester are quite complex ones and TomTom feels the need to tell you which lane you need to be in (e.g. 'keep right') when you pass through them.
If you take it on a normal motorway which doesn't have free flowing junctions all over the place you'll find it does tell you the distance to the next junction every time.

from what i have found myself, it seems that they are not putting a marker at all exit's, it looks like on some parts of the route there is a new instruction saying "keep to the right" as if that if they dont warn you your going to go off at the junction, but they don't saying it at all exit's on a route i have done.
just found another point about ttm5,
created a route and then went into demo mode, the interesting thing is that on motorways it set my speed at 75 mph, which unless i am stupid,
(which i can be sometimes) would mean the eta is wrong if you follow the speed limit.

I think it happens on motorway junctions where you have to be in a specific lane to exit, rather than just don't turn off.
As for the 75mph, I think thats a consequence of trying to make the software work across the whole of Europe. In france the speed limit is 81mph, here it's 70mph, maybe 75mph is a combination between the two.. or maybe it's just more realistic
