Will Map Export create a new map that covers parts of two separate maps? I have the complete maps for Western Europe, and wanted to extract a map that covers southern France and Northern Spain, as my SD card isn't big enough to hold both, and I don't want to have to change maps at the border.
Every time I try to do the export, the program crashes |

Hi There,
Have you tried making a map for your route rather than just adding and entire block of the area?
Mapexport allows you to do this. Just go to "Selecting a corridor based on a route" and follow it from there.
This should cut down the creation time significantly and reduce the chance of your PC crashing.
It may not work but it's worth a try.
Hope this helps. _________________ Thanks,

I was actually doing it for my dad - he was going for a month touring in southern France and northern Spain, so there was no set route to be followed - anywhere from Calais to Madrid really |

The only other thing I can suggest is close down all the other prgrams running on the PC and try again - it might be struggling for resources.
Also are you sure your hard disk has enough capacity to handle the data creation? If you are strapped for space you might need to free up a few Meg.
It will also fail if your SD Card hasn't enough space to fit the map on. This foxed me first time round
I've produced some large maps using Mapexport and it does take some time and a lot of resource.
Let me know how you get on with this. _________________ Thanks,

It's a high spec PC with 1Gig of RAM and a large, almost empty hard disk
The SD card is a 512Mb and was empty, so I don't think that was the problem either |

Have you tried creating the new map in a folder on the hard disk.
Then when completed manually copy to the SD card.
