Hey guys,

I'm using the iCN610 but I'm having some trouble.

I've tried to backup my Navman so I could transfer everything from from one SD card to another SD card, but when I go to restore from the SmartST Software theres no backups showing even though I've done 4 backups.

I've even tried to access the POI's that are on the Navman but thats not working either, all I can do is ADD or Delete them not edit them.

Thats whys I've tried to Backup the whole old SD card to transfer it to the new SD card.

Any help would be very grateful.

Cheers

I have the same problem with 630 V2 and Desktop 1.2 - Write-only Backups!
Backup files appear on the disk in a logical place but restore can't see them.
Navman support didn't know anything about backup, apparently it's been removed altogether in V3, they said.
Can anyone confirm that?

Well I dont know where they've got that from but I'm sure we've got V3 installed. I'll have another try this weekend, as we had heard from Navman support that the new maps were coming out - by time really.

This may be a "way off the mark" comment as I haven't has any experience with the iCN 6xx series units, but issues regarding back ups on iCN 5xx series units are overcome by using the Microsoft Activesync software and using this software to explore, save and back up any files required both on SD/MMC cards and internal memory devices.

Best Regards,
Denis

When you carry out a backup, assuming you installed the software using the default directorys; then all your files are stored in:

C:\Program Files\Navman\SmartST Desktop Version 3 for iCN600 Series\Backup

Naturally, the utility to back up and restore POI's and favourites can be accessed via File>Backup/ File>Restore. The software then prompts for you to accept it's choice of backup name based on the date, or you can overwrite it's choice with your own name.

It really is that simple...
