i have all the lat longs and info but is it possible to type all my details in excel and then convert them into pio,s and then just install them into tom tom 5 rather than doing it 1 at a time on my pda as its a bit long winded if its possible could someone please give me some instructions how to

Yes it is possible.

For an example file download the speed camear database from this site. You will find a csv (comma sepearted values) text file that you can open with Excel

After you have got your text files out of Excel download the POI tools from TomTom

MAKEOV2 / DUMPOV2
=================

We provide a set of simple tools to generate POI databases.
These tools are delivered "as is", free of charge.

The first tool, MAKEOV2, can be used to convert a simple text file
containing the coordinates and names of locations into a ready-to-
use OV2 file.

The second tool, DUMPOV2, can dump the content of POI databases into
text format (yes, text that can be used by the MAKEOV2 tool).



Once you have a made an ov2 file you load it into the map directory along with a small bitmap icon that you also have to make (or borrow).
