SD Defrag

I recently brought a 256MB SD card with the intention of loading only sections of maps I needed (I live in Germany & have all the Europe CD's) unfortunately, I didn't realise you can't "jump" from one map to another (i.e.navigate from, say Dusseldorf to paris) If you know a way I can, it would be really helpful. Howevwer, I've now loaded the whole of Germany - which takes up virtually all of my SD - I read on the TomTom site that if i load maps on an unfragmented SD card, it will run very slowly - they are right! any idea as to how i can defrag the SD and start again?

I didn't defrag my 128MB SD card and it works great. However when I upgraded the ROM of my iPAQ it slowed dramatically. Returned to original ROM version and everything fine again.



This may also be a cause of slow running. Worth a check.

If you really want to defrag a SD card, StorageTools will do the job.



It's a good utility all round - it'll defragment, format and do the equivalent of a scandisk. The only shame is that it only works on storage cards - not the main memory or the iPAQ File Store of my 3970.
