I too had problems to start with, but it turned out Poi edit was trying to send them to the old original destination that no longer exists on the CF card Embarassed and not to the new "GB plus" folder that had been created.

So I had to go through my Poi's and sent them to the new folder, if you know what I mean.

On hindsight renaming the new folder would probably of been the easier and quicker option.

I am not sure I understand how to do all this.
I have tried to copy some POI's and .bmp both into the maps folder and an independant one.
Is there soemewhere that tells you exactly how to do this?

If they are valid files then they only need to be in the map folder and then selected as available in POI management.

I am sorry but I still do not understand how to do this.
I have copied a zip file for Shell gagrages to my desktop and then copied and pasted to my storage card into file Great_Britain_Plus-Map folder in it's zipped format.
I then go to POI manage and nothing shows up so I cannot enable it.
I also tried opening the zip file and copying the two files across to the same folder and it would not allow me to paste it in.
Somebody mentioned having a separate file on the storage card which would allow POIedit to autoupdate to it but I cannot find out how to direct POIedit to go to that file.
Please, please can someone help me?

What you need is the ov2 file and the bmp file in the map folder - forget the zip file, TT can't do anything with it. How you unzip the file, and how you get the two files to the map folder is up to you - there are loads of ways of doing it.

I can get the two files unzipped OK but I cannot copy/drag them into the map folder!
You say there are many ways of doing it - please can you suggest one.
How do I tell if the storage card is locked?
I look forward ot hearing from someone.

Select the files you want to copy, Right Click and choose Copy. Right Click the Map folder on SD card and Choose Paste. You mentioned earlier that you had pasted the zip file onto the card. Make sure that it has been removed first.

Right click the storage card in Explorer/My Computer and Select Properties. This will tell you Size/Used/Free memory.

I wasn't more specific as I have no idea what OS you are using and have no idea whether you are trying to get the files onto a card using a card reader or by connecting directly to the PPC. Either way, moving files is one of the most basic things you can do with any setup.

Hi Oldboy
I have tried all you said and I cannot paste from my desktop into the folder - that option is not available.
I have a 1 GB SD and plenty of space left. However when I right click it for properties it does not show anything just that it is a folder. Does this help?
Hi Julianbarker
I amd om windows pc 2003 for pocket pc's. I appreiciate ther are a number of ways to do this but I cannot yet find one.
The strange thing is that I can get the zip file into the map folder but not the individual files .ov2 .bmp ones.
Do you need any more info?
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Everybody
Managed it!!!
I didn't realise you had to extract the files from the two files that I thought I had unzipped. All is fine now.
Thanks for your help.
