Powered (Amplified) Mount Car - battery overheating ok?

Hello,

I have purchased the following mount for my XDA IIs (literally not from this shop):

Firstly, I must admit that this is crap! I am worried about connector between cradle and PDA - it seems that outlet in the PDA may be broken after several weeks of usage... Also putting PDA into this mount and releasing it - that's a nightmare and takes a relatively long time - quality of this device is far below expectations.

Secondly, it is not possible to use built-in speaker - microphone of the XDA is too close to the speaker of the mount so there is sound loop and one big peaked noise. Probably for other PDA's (without phone option) would be cool but for XDA it useless.

Third thing that worries me a lot is a built-in charger. Battery of my PDA becomes very warm while charging in car. Is it ok? Also, it takes a little bit longer to fully charge it, especially between 90%-100%.
When I charge my XDA using PC cradle it stays cool (well, not so warm), but in car it is a little bit different. So my question is whether it is normal and maybe harmful for my phone???

Does anybody have any experience with it?
