thanks for that information

i installed a new folder in the tomtom folder with the bmp files in called SDKRegistry as you implied and then copyed the mns file over , but its still not working for me , i used the msu file from Spark1e post here

many thanks

I get a little confused by you stating you "copyed the mns file over" and then " i used the msu file".

The file should be called TomTom.mnu

Check if you got the upper/lowercase right in the name, no empty lines in the file or at the end (except for one closing CR/LF) and check if every line is closed off with a "|".

I hope that helps.

Clap Hey, hey! Another satisfied consumer! Glad to hear it worked out.

BTW: if anyone has an issue with the map not moving smoothly, but in jerks, there is a solution for that as well!

newmikey,

Yesturday you said that other Palm users had got this working, but I still havn't found any evidence of this.

Could you please confirm as I have tried and tried and tried to get this working and am now convinced that its simply not going to happen on the Palm!

Trying, Jon, trying. I can't get onto pocketnavigation.de because of some security issue with our firewall. It doesn't like the board SW used over there I guess.

Will check again this weekend from home.

Use the POI settings and uncheck all of your imported POI categories (The ov2 files for f.i. speedcams)
Than go to the proximity warning settings (the POIwarner-like thingamajiggie) and mark those same categories for proximity warnings. I used a 400 meter threshold, use what you think is handy.

That's all. The speedcams will still show up when you go anywhere near them, but the map will scroll smoothly again.

The origin of this problem seems to be a different internal handling of the ov2 files by TT5 which causes all external POI's to be redrawn every time you move.

Has anyone managed to find the option to rotate the screen 90 degrees (ROTATE_DISPLAY turns by 180)? I've tried several variants of ROTATE_DISPLAY_90, but with no luck.

Sad Same for me here. I don't really mind as the original 90 degree rotations are still accessible under the PREFERENCES menu. I typically only use it to impress my friends. In the car I set it to landscape and I sort of got hooked on that, seeing more of the surrounding area, streetnames and all.

The only setback here is that the carmount is not really designed for landscape use, so whilst fumbling around, my Asus has dropped to the floor more times than I care to acknowledge. Hope it's not developing a headache Laughing
