Anyone else have this problem?

When I plug in the my iPaq 3870 and then plan a route, when I get to the route overview screen the battery charge light stops flashing. I mean no power going to the device at all. If I close TTN5 and look at the battery status screen the light starts to flash again and the battery appears to charge.

I initially thought this was something to do with the battery charge indicator on the route overview screen but resuming a journey after restarting TTN5 where the overview screen is not shown and the charge light will stop flashing again of its own accord, usually within about 2 minutes of starting TomTom.

This effectively cuts power to the device and sooner or later the battery will run completely flat and we all know what happens then.....

I have seen this on my x50v - I thought it was my car charger unable to cope with bluetooth/wifi and the dell running at 624mhz with the back light full on - but I may have also had this when I set it to power save (208mhz).

Is this another bug?

I think it may be, this one possibly more serious than any other.

I am having similar problems with my EMTAC GPS Sleave/Jacket which works very well with TTN3 and TTN2 before it.

In fact the charging light goes out whilst TT is trying to obtain a sattelite fix which it doesn't really achieve. I believe the problem may lie with their GPS 'driver' which is now integrated within the programme. The system as such is not useable.

I have in fact reinstalled TTN3 and hope that TT will provide a fix shortly Evil or Very Mad

I think your Emtac Jacket not obtaining a fix is a separate issue. In fact I have had so many problems with my Navman 3400 Jacket that I have abandoned it and replaced it with the Arkon mount seen in my sig.

This works flawlessly and gets a fix before TTN5 is started as it is powered by the lighter socket. I also get at least 40% more sats in view compared with the Navman jacket.

The charging problem happens when using either. I think 'jacket' and CF card problems experienced by myself and other users of this forum is because TTN5 only officially supports Bluetooth and serial connected devices.

Thanks for clearing that point.
