|
|
I have tried and failed to add a point on map as POI. It is an 'unnamed' road. It shows up on TTN5 and I have actually tried whilst in the location to add it as a POI?. Is it possible to add a POI from Map View? if so how please?
Using Checkpoint in TTN3 it was possible to have a 'hot key' to mark POI's and I do understand that CheckPoint will not be available till SDK is released, but for instance how do we quickly add a POI when travelling? These would be things like Cams etc that have not been registered or other POI's that are required by a user?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. (I have searched the forums without success. maybe going blind and dim in old age )

To add a POI in map view.
Tap the screen at the location you want the POI so the cursor is flashing on that point.
Tap the cusrsor key (the key to the left of the Done key)
Tap Add as POI
Select a category and give the POI a name.
It seems that you can't add a new POI category on the fly, you need to set the categories up in Manage POI from within change preferences option before you can add any POI's to the category.
If you are actually at the location with a GPS fix, in map view you can tap Find > Arrow to next screen > GPS position and then add as a POI like above.
No quick hot key or 1 or 2 tap solutiion to add a POI from navigator view as far as I can see, which is a real pain for adding new cams etc whilst driving.
In V3 you could use the memorise position whilst driving and then sort it all out when at home.
Althought I've not tried it yet, it may be possible to run Checkpoint in the background as well as TTN5 just disable the start/stop TTN functions in Checkpoint. This would enable you to keep the hot key facility.
Not sure if it would work, I'll give it a try when I get home. |

On second thoughts it probably won't work if checkpoint gets its position data from TTN. |

Thanks it works a treat for adding POI from Map view.
As for the adding when on the fly maybe we will have to wait for CheckPoint for TTN5 to appear.
