Hi Julianbarker,
Today I did a revision of my coding. Now is added a detection system to know where TTN 5 was installed, so no problem if it was in main memory or any memory card.
julianbarker wrote: | OK - so what is the bottom line?
a) what do I need to download? |
An automated setup program can be downloaded from: http://geopostcode.com/TTN5CFG.exe (2.87 Mb)
Those 2.87 Mb are not to be loaded into your PDA. That program will run in a Desktop, so it's a pain but to have a window saying "Hello World" under Windows makes a huge program.
What is going to be charged in your PDA is the program itself (40 Kb) and NSBasic runtime (151 Kb).
Depending on your PDA other files may or not be loaded. If you already have some VB program running on it then you will have the Microsoft DLLs I use, no others than those needed to handle files.
Looking between all my NSBasic things I found that the one exposed in this thread by Ibendlin was a special Runtime named "Fat" that I rarely distributed and only for very special customers with special machines that practically have nothing installed in their system about VB, and of course, nothing to do with the usual one I distribute much more smaller.

You can install all them in memory card. Just Microsoft DLL if needed will go to Main Memory (Windows folder).
Quote: | e) how much memory will it take? |
I suppose you ask about running time. It will take the memory that
Windows give to it. But once you do the job the program closes down, so it is not working in background and memory is released.
Quote: | f) what exactly does it do? |
You can do your own menu for TTN 5. The one you get when you tap the screen in Navigation mode. So you can have your mostly used options as the first ones.
I think is not needed manual, as just in few seconds playing with it you will know what it does and how.
Hope I did answer your questions. _________________ Jose Adell

If you could get the hardware buttons to work too, that would be great :D
Like switch daytime/nighttime colors and so on |

No at the moment, and think not in the future, sorry. But you can put that options in your first or second form of your configuration and to have them handy for you with just one or two touches as that options are included in my tool. _________________ Jose Adell

How about getting the onscreen keyboard working, for those of us with built in keyboards? That would make this useful and rather popular... _________________ TomTom 6 - SPV M5000 and WM6

Whatsoever can be done without touch the coding has been done. SDK 5 is not going to be released before July, until then all I can get is this.
If you have downloaded the program scroll the list and there are a few items related to keyboard. Don't know if some of them makes the job for you as I haven't time to check each one (+70 options).
May be there are more options for menues, don't know. Those are all I found. _________________ Jose Adell

Most interesting for us is SET_PROMPT - this addresses the "ahead" and "keep left/right" announcement issues. _________________ Lutz
