|
|
Hi folks,
I was just curious if TomTom Mobile is the best solution out there in terms of pocket GPS, for those who need it to navigate by car?
Also, are there any pocket GPS solutions out there for walkers/cyclists, that have detailed maps showing footpaths or Ordnance Survey type map data?
TIA |

Do you know that tomtom mobile run's via Mobile Phone, sorry a lot of people dont release that you need a symbian phone? I dont know of any OS based mapping for mobile phones but i could be wrong, my g/friends brother is a kean paraglider and he uses:
iPAQ PDA running tomtom navigator 3 for road use
Memory Map software (os maps) when he is planning his route on the paraglider.
It really all depends how much you are going to use on the road and off the road 50/50 or 70/30.
Feel free to drop me an email for more info. _________________ Regards

Yep I have TomTom Mobile, running on a Windows Mobile phone.
Someone else I know really likes TomTom, but they are a keen walker so want OS maps or something similar as well. It doesn't have to have a huge amount of detail, but at least so it doesn't just show a green space (like TomTom).
I'll have a look at Memory Map, maybe this is suitable... thanks![/quote] |

I did drop you a mail, but what exact version of TomTom is needed for the Mio PDA? And what's the approximate cost? |
