Yes you can copy with a Card Reader. When you start TT it will re-read the contents of the Map Folder.

Have you more than 39 POI's in your Map Folder?

If you have less than that, have you set them up in Warn When Near?

'any idea as to why i am using tomtom nav 3'

Suggest you use TT5 instead.

If you are using TT3 you will need CheckPOI vs3,2 it is available from this site in the downloads section CheckPOI you then need to configure this utility to work correctly, if you find problems please come back with a question, but it is some time since I used this application - Mike

when you do an monthly update do you delete the previous download off the smartcard or does it simply overwrite?

What if I'm moving from the old-style update (Jan 06) to the new-style all-encompassing update with all the cameras in?

Do I delete the old OV2 and BMP files from my map folder and set all the alerts, etc up again?

Cheers

Hi can someone answer this for me please? Until now, I've left the old seperate files in place alongside the new files, and experienced some strange behaviour. Today I deleted the old files and reinstalled the new files (pocketgps_uk_sc.bmp and pocketgps_uk_sc.ov2) and set them up in POI management, but I only see one entry (PocketGPS UK SC). Is this right (as before, I had each individual entry for each type of camera)? By selecting this entry, will it warn me when ALL types of camera sites are near?

Thanks

The single File that you have contains all the Speed Cameras, but does not show the Type of Camera.

To be able to see the different type Cameras you will need to Download the Consolidated Set, which will show as 5 different types of Camera.

I'll assume it's TT5 you are using. In which case all you need to do is go to the Speed Cameras Page, and selecting TomTom OV2. In the next drop down list select which Camera Set you want to use.

Download this. Unzip the File. Copy the matching .ov2 and .bmp Files to the Map Folder on the SD Card.

Not sure if I'm in the right place here.
I have a Tomtom Mobile 5 system on my nokia N70 phone, I'd like to swap the files for the tomtom onto a 1gb card so I can put maps on for France,Holland and Germany.
HOW DO I DO IT????? AND WILL IT WORK??????

Best Wishes

Use a card reader.

First, backup your card (in case anythinggoes wrong)

Then just copy everything onto the new card. Make sure you select hidden files as well in the preferences.
