Which Speed Camera Software are you referring to? POICapture or Speed Camera Database?

Have you downloaded the correct Version for your Operating System?

There are 2 flavours for PDA, as shown here.

Did you follow these instructions.
Quote:

Installation

Prior to installing please check that you are running the correct version of TomTom Navigator.

The steps to a successful installation are:

1. Download the POICapture.CAB file and save it on a folder on your PC.
2. Copy the POICapture.CAB file to the root of your storage card.
3. Use the PocketPC File Explorer to run the POICapture.CAB file

The POICapture.CAB file will create the following folders, if the folders do not already exist:

*
* My Pocket PC\TomTom\SdkRegistry My Pocket PC\Program Files\POICapture

Hi,

Dont know whether this helps - i found all the above not really useful so i decided to play around with navigator 5.

1) Backed up tomtom SD to pc
2) Down loaded database
3) Copied database to storage care\Great_Britain-Map\
(pocketgps_uk_sc.ov2 and pocketgps_uk_sc.bmp)
4) Restarted tomtom
5) Change preferences | Manage POI | Add POI | and selected pocketgps uk sc

And it now works Smile

Hope this helps

Phirana, I would also go to Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI and set this up so you get a warning of the approaching camera - Mike

i've downloaded the files, unzipped them, copied both the .bmp & .osv to the folder which contains the Great Britian Map.

I've done a soft restart of my ipaq.

when i open TomTom, Change Preferences, Manage POI, Enable/Disable POI, I just see the usual list of airport, beaches, etc. i don't see any speed camera options.

what am i missing here in the installation process? thanks in advance.

Are you sure you have put the correct down load on to your device? as it is a TomTom unit you need the BMP and ov2 files, please check what the file extension is that you have loaded - Mike

Go to Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn when near POI and see if they are listed in here?

There is a limit of 39 Custom POIs on TomTom vs5 and 100 if using a Go device running vs6, if you have loaded any other POI's and exceeded the limit this may explain the fact the POI's are on the card but you cannot see them in the application.

If you are not too sure what custom POI's are on the device, look at the card through file explorer and count how many files have the ov2 file extension - Mike

good suggestion - but already tried looking in POI warnings. not their either.

i haven't downloaded any other POI onto this ipaq pocket pc. in fact when i go to manage POI only three of the six options are in color. i don't have the ability to clink on "add POI", "Delete POI", "Delete POI Category".

i've also tried deleting all these files and then reinstalling them from scratch.

Try downloading the file again, then unzip the download placing the files into the map folder on the device, if you are using the consolodated by type installation you should have 5 bmp files, 5 ov2 files, 2 txt files and a htm file. Only copy the ov2 and bmp files to your card. - Mike

thanks for your patience. i was saving them to a file on the "hard drive" of the pocket pc, rather than the storage card. all done!!! yippee!!! question-how many yards does everyone set their warnings for? is 300 yards enough?
