On average how many satelites shoud you have for TT2 to be able to work ok. I have anything between 4 and 7 and on the very odd occasion I may even go as far as the 12 mark. The No. of Satelites also go up and down as I am driving and sometimes by 2 or 3, is this normal?

There should never be an average, it depends entirely on your line of sight to the sky, where abouts each satellite is in the sky, the more satellites that are higher than the horizon (high up in the sky), the more satellite fixes you will receive.



2 to 3 can be the case if a lot of satellites are on the horizon or are being blocked by bulidings or the signals you are receiving are rebounding off of buildings weakening the signals.



I an open sky position you should see anything from 3 to 12. I know that's being vague but it's difficult to say unless others are at your location. You should really be aiming for 5 or above, 4 will give you a 3D fix that not only computes your position on the earth, but also the altitude. 5 allows you to drop 1 sat without losing your fix and position on map. 6+ should be good. 12 is the maximum you will reach, but most only will reach 11 sats.
