Ignoramus needs help with ipaq 5550/navman sleeve and no gps

Please can anybody with the knowledge offer me assistance? The situation is this. I have a iPAQ 5550 with a 512 mb SD card and a NAVMAN Sleeve with a 256MMD card. I was using Tom Tom three and up until yesterday all was working well and I got the gps recognising 8 satellittes.

I received my upgrade. So like a good lad I did a back up of my iPAQ but NOT of my two cards. I did a back up to my PC and also one to my SD card. However I wiped my old maps from my 256MMD card ready to install the new maps.

So. I install TT5 and then install the maps, registering and activating them.

I have two problems. (1) TT5 now keeps saying I have no GPS enabled.
(2) I can no longer seem to autosync!
