Can anyone explain to me how the roadblock function operates.

I went in PC World and was told TomTom will pickup traffic problems from the Sat and automatically reroute, is this true?

Given that is does not do that how do you use the function?

Regards

Laughing Out Loud, that sounds like PC World staff.

TomTom Navigator doesn't pickup traffic signals from the satellites, neither does any package. What the avoid feature does in TomTom Navigator is if you were approaching a traffic jam, or an accident, you could tap the screen and select to avoid either the current road, or the next couple of roads by using the Road Block facility, and it would then try to route you off at the next available road away from the roads you have selected. Sometimes it will request you to do a u-turn if there isn't a good selection of roads. There is also an alternative route which works similar but slightly differently to the avoid options. The alternative route will take another major route to your destination.

There are traffic type add-on programs, like LiveWire for CoPilot, but again these won't do it automatically for you, it will give you information on traffic, you then have to manually make the decision to re-route yourself.
