I have just upgraded from TomTom version 3.07 to version 5.
I have a Dell Axim X50V and an Aktronix Bluetooth GPS receiver.
Prior to the upgrade, everything was working fine but after the upgrade the GPS receiver was not recognised by TomTom even though I tried the different settings available. Software which came with the receiver (Visual GPSce)did still see the receiver and showed a number of satellites and my current coordinates so the receiver is working ok.
I have uninstalled TomTom version 5 and reinstalled version 3.07 and everything is working fine again but I would like to be able to access the new features in the latest version.
Any clues as to what might be done to make the new software work?

Thanks in advance

choose 3rd party wired gps receiver, select your BT GPS Com Port (OUT) when asked, choose whatever baud.

try that.

If other applicatiosn have grabbed the GPS TT can't see it - make sure the relevant utilities are all properly closed before running TT unless using GPS spltting software.

Hi

I have the same problem but with a orange spv with a Globalsat BT 318 receiver. I have tried selecting both BLuetooth & wired devices but it always says No GPS device. My TT 3.07 worked fine prior to installing 5.

Cheers

Thanks for this. I connected as Other NMEA Cable and set the baud rate as 9600 and it worked. It does however, seem to close the Bluetooth connection on ending but at least it works.
