Incedently my car, a Ford Mondeo, has Full window tints, limo Black in the back from just after the front diver/ passenger windows and I can sit and play with the 510 in the back seat, dark smoke on the front 2 windows, and a "nearly legal" (cough) sunstrip. No problems with sat fixes. _________________ 2 x ICN-510 units now, 1 USA Unit and 1 UK Unit. Both working great and set up to perfection.

Garmin huh, I used a garmin in fla last novemember and 20% of the time i got the message, make a safe and legal U turn, and i was only exiting the I4 (because of the way you leave or enter the I4 its the sloped entries.) maps are not up to date on garmin either btw..
No sorry I dont Agree.. It must have been "Operator Error"!!!!!!!!!!!!!...Thanks to SIMON 1.. his thread is the most understanding one i have read so far...But just try telling Hallfords that your third one dont work - they wont believe you not to mention Navman. For what its worth my Navmans (all 3 of e'm) had all the latest software and the service pack (which in my mind made it worse not better) and it told me on the odd ocasion when the first one did work to do a "u turn when going up the M6...and no.. i havnt got reflective screens. Regarding the software - We all know that there are problems and i for one are willing to accept that - its the fact that they wont "lockon" thats the main issue.....And Version 7 Software on the Garmin is equally as good if not better than Navman. Ok you cant load the speed cameras in to Garmin but who cares you shouldn't be breaking speed limits anyway but what you can do is plan "any" and i mean "any route you want" on the Garmin then download it to the unit which is a great benefit and guess what ...it works as well. The only downside that i find with Garmin is that you cant use the screen to comb your hair in because the screen isn't reflective!!!!

Gizmology, and Ferret undoubtedly have issues whit their Navman units - you have to my mind, decided that all these 510 units all faulty - why swap for another? If you are that unhappy with them and so sure the Garmin is better...well get one of those then
User error is one of my favourite retorts to most IT problems - because it usually is...these units can be improved with a little care in settings etc - as put forward by forum users here, but even I would say it's unlikely to be the case here.
It's helpful to share experience with other users but pointless to keep saying you think they are all rubbish - we know what your thoughts are - and I just can't understand why you persevere with them if so unhappy
Sorry...but I'm happy with what I got, even if I'm disappointed with the cost of maps and the update policy
Mine has managed to navigate South Florida for a week fine, took my parants from Bucks to Aachen and back almost perfectly and has done fine in UK for me to date.
