I've been eagerly awaiting TTN5 mainly because of the updated maps but a recent topic on this forum advised that TTN5 was not supported on an X5. I need better maps but can't afford to discard a perfectly good pda just to get better maps. So, rather than shelling out for a new pda just to run TTN5 does anyone know whether an alternative product like CoPilot 5 would run on an X5?

Thanks
Ice

If the rumor has some substance then it's the SD card slot on the X5 that gives the problem, and it's not program dependent. Looks like SD cards cannot be filled beyond 1 GB. If your TTN5 maps are smaller than 1 GB then the X5 should work.

You may well be quite right. The TomTom support site lists these as the Dell TT5 compatible machines:

DELL Axim X3, X3i, X30, X50, X50I, X50V

Looking at the Aximsite www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=82877&highlight=sd+card+2gb
it seems that some people are running 2gb sd cards with no problems. So hopefully there won't be any problems with the X5.
