does anybody know if i do this, and it goes wrong such as wont boot up ect, (i have made a 100% backup) to throw back in incase somthing goes wrong.

can any 1 tell me if all i need to do is switch the battery off then on, then i will be able to sync with it agen? and change the registry as thats what i need to do.

i need to change the regiestry to find a program called Pocketpc.exe instead of Appstartup.exe

am just concerned if i do this i may not be able to sync agen or be able to change the reg agen.


i do have a 4gig hdd which would be cool for mp3 files ect.

any ideas please. thanks

It would make sence as the 550 operating system and harware show all the signs of having being transplanted from a PDA, either obsolete or a forerunner. A start would be to find a way to get the unit to boot from the SD slot. There will be a button sequence to push on start up.

My new 550 indicates that it's running Win CE NET 4.2 Core even though CE 5.0 is now out. Microsoft offer an update for NET 4.2 Core at

The only risk I see is knowing how to boot from original drive (you'll need an operating systdem on the SD).
