For info:

I'm running my TT with the new maps and V5.10 software. The brightness is set to 90 percent. The TTG is mounted in the bottom right corner of my windscreen on an Audi A4.

I did a trip up to Shrewsbury yesterday in bright sunshine and at no time did I have a problem reading the screen. On the way home at around 8.30 pm it was still light but I actually had to rduce the screen brightness to 75 percent as it was too bright and causing a distraction !

My TTG was one of the ones that appeared to go "dim" after upgrading to V5 software. all appears OK now though.

Hi Frazzle...

If only I could say the same Crying or Very sad .

Same v5.1 and latest maps and brighness set to 100% (permanantly now) and still not enough. I have just tried out 'the fix' yet again too but it won't work for me.

We had a trip out to Whitby yesterday and my screen was basically useless for a lot of the time and barely able to see the map let alone the other info being displayed, even when it wasn't sunny. I am so annoyed that TT don't believe this to be an issue for me so I have taken a couple of photo's of the unit in use and sent them of to them just to let them see why I am complaining about this. With v4.42 I had no problems at all, and the voice instructions were also far better than with v5.

I was going to try and post one of them on here but I am fairly new to forums etc... so don't really know how best to do that as it looks like I would have to host it somewhere and then put a link to it.

I also have my TTG in the bottom right hand corner of my windscreen in my C5 (not the Sinclair one either Wink ) but if it is bright outside my screen is very hard to see any detail at all. Looking at the photo, you could even be mistaken for thinking it was switched off.

I still have a continuing argument ongoing with TT's Manager about this and also a few other concerns regarding 'wrong' instructions etc with v5, and I am due a reply any day now so we'll see what he says because TT's Customer Support have just given in.

I just wish I could get it back to as it was when I bought it in March as I couldn't fault it then..... I can't believe running the v5 upgrade could have caused this change to the unit's performance.

Cheers
Dave
