A forum virgin .... so be gentle!!
Having had Copilot for over a month now I am getting used to the crashes and foibles, but would like some advise on how to transfer trips from the PC to the smartphone.
When I connect the C500 to the PC and use the data download wizard it does not recognise the phone, but only offers the option to download to a card reader, despite the manual insisting it can be done. I can see the phone and explore the file structure using the PC. In fact when I eventually managed to get through to the Copilot "Tech support" they hadn't a clue and have failed to get back to me.
Lots of other gripes and issues to follow, but I thought I would start off with this _________________ Orange SPV C500

Hi,
I'm getting the same problem, I've even re installed from the CD to see if that works!
Have managed to resolve the issue?
Thanks

You need to select 'C' drive, it will then create a 'copilot' and '2577' directories on the C drive which you will need to copy to the phone.
Use the Activesync explore option to find the storage card folder on the phone, then using windows 'My Computer' find the 'copilot' and '2577' folders on your 'C' drive, copy then, then in the Activesync explore window paste them. It will take a while to copy the folder over to the phone.
If you plan to copy regularly, i.e. updating the safety camera database, it is worth getting a card reader, as it is faster to copy straight onto he mini SD card for use in the phone.
You can get a card reader for about £10 delivered from www.ebuyer.co.uk

Thanks for the reply...
I sent an email to ALK and nothing. I realised the 'C drive' way when I updated the speed camera database. I can't quite see how removing the card and using a card reader is quicker than the active sync exporler option.
As long as it works....
Did ALK ever get back to you? |

Thanks guys
It works! and I have just successfully updated with the updated Safety Camera Database
.... but still no response from ALK Technical Support
btw .... Why does POI alert always default to "near route" when you start up then never give a warning. _________________ Orange SPV C500
