H..E..L..P.
------------
How do I get the system to tell me when I am approaching a POI that I have ticked on the POI's page?
I have ticked the relevant boxes on the POI's page and have ticked to be notified. The system however never tells me when I am approaching these or when there are POI's nearby.
Whats happening?
Co-Pilot 5 Live was supplied on manufactureres Memory card so all the POI's have been loaded. They appear on the map when yo arent moving but quickly dissapear when you start moving again.
Any advice appreciated. |

Hi.
I contacted ALK and told them about POI's dissappearing and was told that this is a 'safety feature'. I managed to get the giolf course POI's working and also speed camera's by unticking and the re-ticking the 'POI alerts enabled when:' box in POI's within options. I have to do this every time I use the system as it doen't automatically inform of POI's.
Just one of a number of 'bugs' I'm afraid.
Hope this helps.
Derek. |

Most have found that moving the POI slider bar one setting from the left makes it work. You need to do this anytime you go into options otherwise it resets _________________ --Ken

I am so glad I've found this thread. I am about to pickup my Mio168 with CP5 today and I have heard other people mention that the POIs alert function doesn't really work in CP5. I will give the suggested provided in this thread a go when I go mine. |

Well got the POI's to show by moving the slider to the right (near route rather than on route), now Im inundated with info....
Just another point, noticed that POI's only work in Guidance Mode when you suggest a location. If you just use guidance mode but dont suggest a place then the POI's arent activated. Any way around this ? |
