Installing Speed cams to Oregon 650

I have been trying to install the speedcam database (UK) to my Garmin Oregon 650 but so far without success. In each case I have used the Garmin POILoader and tried:

1. Installing the cams to the device.
2. Installing the cams to the Garmin directory of my MicroSD card
3. Installing the cams to the Garmin/POI directory of my MicroSD card

None of these have worked, however. Any suggestions would be gratefully received

I have the PGPSW cameras loaded on my Oregon 450.
I used PoiLoader to put them on the micro SD card, in the Garmin/Poi folder (NB not Garmin/POI).

I loaded them in a separate process from loading the "tourism" POIs I got from this site, by keeping them in two separate folders on the PC. The idea is to avoid the two types of poi being mixed up together on the Oregon, under Extras. The cameras cannot be put in a sub-folder in order to separate them from the tourism poi's, as this would break the PoiLoader limit.

My Oregon cannot use the .wav files for audio warnings, however, so I excluded these from the load.

Hi Dales. Do you mean the name of the folder in your Garmin folder on the card is "POI Folder"?

I've discovered the speedcam POIs ARE on my Oregon but their icons don't show up in Automotive mode and I don't get warnings of them as I am travelling (which rather defeats the object really). I can select each speedcam and "Go to" it. I have "Proximity Alarms" turned on. Is there some other setting on the Oregon which needs to be set, I wonder?

Just so others know, the camera files go in a folder called "Poi" within the Garmin folder.

On my Oregon 450, I get a warning "bong bong bong" as I approach the camera, as long as I have turned Tones On (in Setup...System).
And I get a red warning banner at the top of the screen. (This is in Recreational profile, I haven't checked in Automotive profile). (NB these warning banners and chimes do not work in Demo mode - I have to test them in real time). The icons show up if zoomed in enough.

Another feature about my setup, is that the camera files are generated using the free Ash10 program, which inserts specific warning distances into each type of camera for different speed limits. (Kremmen has masterminded something similar). Perhaps the Oregon doesn't chime at all unless a warning interval is specifically set - I don't know, I haven't tried mine with just the basic PGPSW camera files.

I'll test mine some more, if you cannot get yours running.

I think I've got it solved now. I can see the speedcam icons and on the 650 there's a Tone setting in "Tones" --- Proximity Alarms --- Upcoming Speed Alarm. I'll test it tomorrow.

Everything working fine now. Ash10's program seems to have a few bugs in it and it doesn't appear to be developed any more which is a shame as it's a great idea.

Ash10 still works fine for me. The only thing is that it no longer downloads automatically, so users have to manually download the file, rename it and run the application.
