Medion PNA100 and Ambicom Wifi SD card. Help Please!

I have the Tchibo (TCM) rebadged PNA 100 that I recently purchased. I'm trying, and failing, to get it to work with a wfi card. I contacted Medion in the UK, on two spearate occasions, and they have confirmed, both times, that the slot is SDIO and that a wifi card should work (but they would not recommend a card that would work). Initially I purchased a Sandisk 256Mb+Wifi card but it was physically too big to fit into the slot of the PNA 100 (the top of the wifi SD card kept hitting against the PDA casing). I then tried an Ambicom WL11-SD card which fits in fine, but I have been unable to get it to work. It all seems to install OK, and the LED on the card glows a faint orange, but there are no indications that it is working (no icons on main screen, etc).

Has anybody managed to get it working, or have any useful suggestions?

I'm having problems getting it going as well. Tried all drivers. The card is lighting up but the driver is unable to load. Get the message as the icon is hidden after a brief appearance.
