a bluetooth package would be the best option for you if you want less cables. Tom Tom have a compatable bluetooth GPS tomtom 3 and if i am right tomtom 5 will support your XDA 2 also. You need

Car kit to power the PDA-Charge the GPS where necessary
Memory card to hold the map data, 128 minimum, 256 normally recommended as you can put you own files on as well.
GPS sofware + Hardware, there are alot out there like, TomTom, Navman, Destinator etc.

or you could look at the hloux cr100 amplified mount this has the gps antena built in i have two of them o few people seem to have had problems with them but ive not seen any with the two ive got there is a little feedback from the speaker but this is due the the proximity of the phone to the speaker and my arkon mount did the same before it died after 2 years very hard use with the holux unit the only thing youll need is a bt headset and id recomend get poket bluetooth tools if you decid to go for the bluetooth option

Yeah the cr100 is a very good choice if you only want to use the GPS in the car.
