|
|
Hi
I'm building up my own POI file at the moment and decided to test it out by loading it on to my icn510.
Even though the csv file is only 9k on the computer, when I load it to my navman it takes up and requires 2.74MB of memory!
I had to delete Ireland Map from my navman to get it to fit on!
Seeing as I've put all the speed cameras on it, and the mobile speed cameras, and the red light cameras which are much bigger files they only use a few K (about the same size as they are on the PC)
Is there something I am doing wrong here?
Please help, I need to get Ireland back, cos its sods law I'll be off there when I havent got a map loaded for it!
Cheers if you can help

Put your hand in your pocket and buy a larger capacity SD card _________________ 2 x ICN-510 units now, 1 USA Unit and 1 UK Unit. Both working great and set up to perfection.
..............Route Type
Quickest.......Maximum Left.
Preference for Motorways & Freeways...More Often......Maximum Right.
Preference for Urban Roads

Great work to build you own but would it not be easier to download the excellent POI's already provided by http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras.php
They are updated regularly and will give you more time to do some more courier-ing. _________________ Gee-Pee

I think you misunderstand, he has our database which does not exhibit the size growth problem and he has his own POI database containing some other POIs that does grow. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I think I might be doing that !
The point is tho, there is room for my POI file and all the speed traps provided by this site (excellent work there by the way, thanks ).
I've zipped the file anyway, so if anyone wants to download what I've done so far click the link!
Yeah but what is it, I hear you all cry .... Well so far 274 Morrisons around the UK... (I can hear you laughing at me!!!!!!)... Being a same day courier, out on the road all the time, you get hungry, and Morrisons do the BEST and I mean the BEST Big Breakfast EVER !... This is why I need them on my NavMan, cos I'm addicted to Morrisons Big Breakfasts !
MR Site Owner: You are welcome to add my POI file to your download site and make it available to everyone else. But for those who can not wait and need it now, download it below.
http://www.couriersoncall.co.uk/Morrisons.zip
There are two files, one for AutoRoute (with its own Icon) and one for NavMan (with its own Icon).
If anyone also gets this massive size difference while loading it on to their device please let me know. _________________ National Courier Network & Free GPS Tracking |

I DID IT ! I Worked it out !
It no longer uses 2.74 MB of memory, got it down to 56k
The problem seemed to be I had named everything with the Same Name of either 'Morrisons' or 'Safeway'
So for some strange reason, I decided to number them all... Morrisons 1, Morrisons 2 etc etc
Now when I load it back to my NavMan, it only requires 56k ! And I got my Ireland Map back on!
Knew it had to be something simple!
I have updated the zip file with the new data, enjoy!
