I have recently obtained a navman 3000 jacket which was a ex display item.

My question is do i have to some how reset the unti and try and get the item so it can do a factory ttff, or can i just leave it unattened for 30 mins and let it do its job?

or if the software works, will it do anyharm in just using it and it will acquire new satalites?

Do i have to have the software running for the jacket to fix?

No need to reset it at all, assuming it's installed correctly and your iPAQ can communicate with it then it will download ephemeris and almanac data and acquire a fix.

I assume you have installed the necessary drivers for the Navman 3000 jacket? What software are you using with it?

i have pocket co pilot installed on it atm, version 2.

I found getting the driver to be the hardest part. i had the jacket 2 days before the Cd, and trying to find the driver on the internet was hard, kept comming up with "unknown card in slot 2"

Compaq are sending me the 1.2 update cd.

Co pilot is directing me fine, just dont like the feel of it. I have heard that tom tom works with the jacket and i like the isometric view that tom tom 2 does.

I'm a little confused here, do you have CoPilot or Compaq iNS? I was of the impression that neither would work with a Navman 3000 jacket, only the Navman Jacket that was supplied with the CoPilot/iNS software which was modified slightly?

I prefer TomTom but it's horses for courses, the 3d view is nice at first but you do get to see a lot more of the road ahead in 2d view and I tend to use that more these days.
