I am thinking about buying a USB GPS for my laptop. For future reference, are there any PDAs that accept a USB device?

Very few - Some of the Toshibas , and some of the Asus Mypals. Basically they need to have a USB host interface (most only have USB client)

You also need a driver, which you are unlikey to have any luck.
Even if you have that, your PDA is not able to power the GPS.

All in all, a USB GPS with PDA is not a practical/viable set up even if it works.

If you have not bought anything yet, and want to buy something that can be used with a PC and PDA. I suggest you get a serial GPS, or bluetooth.

Even if you PC does not have a serial port, it is better to get an additional USB>serial converter for PC use, rather than the other way round.

Bluetooth dongles are quite cheap. I got mine for £30. Would you be able to use a bluetooth GPS via one of these?
