Bluetooth breakthrough!

Sorry if this is a repeat of any earlier comment.

I have just upgraded my mobile to the shiny new Sony Ericsson K750i. The manual said that the phone supported multiple BT connections simultaneously, instead of the usual one-at-a-time affair. So.... I connected my BT handsfree (Motorola HF800) and then tried to connect to Netfront on my Sony Clie TH55. Success!!

The phone shows both the handsfree connection and the GPRS internet link at the same time. I had no trouble accessing the web and collecting emails, all with the handsfree connection showing up clearly on both the phone and the handsfree unit.

This would seem to suggest that I can connect to the handsfree AND have the GPRS call off data on the Tomtom Traffic (or Plus) service. I can't check that yet as the current Palm version (4.42) doesn't yet support Traffic, that's a V5 feature for us Palm folks.

What happens with call handling I don't know, but if anyone out there has a Traffic subscription and a K750i they might want to give it a whirl and see if it works.

For now I will have to content myself with listening to the top-quality MP3 player or using the amazing 2 megapixel camera on my phone :D Next accessory due for release is a phono link that will allow a connection to the car's stereo. Oh happy days...
