USA maps (again)

I seem to ask this question every year, but...

I'm going to the USA in mid-May and would like to get the TTGO USA maps on either SD card or on CD (existing SD is only 128MB, so I'll have to get a new one anyway). But they seem to be "coming soon" on the Tomtom website. Anyone got any inside knowledge of when they'll be available?

I asked Tomtom this question, pointing out that the US TTGOs already ship with the maps on an SD card, so it should be a simple task to put them up for sale on the TT website. But they offered only "coming soon" in a more wordy fashion

I guess I could always get the TTN3 USA maps (I have a PDA TTN3 too) but I don't want to fork out for those unless there's going to be a free upgrade to TTN5 maps in the future.

"Coming soon" definitely doesn't mean May for the v5 maps. I would rather guess something like July/August (of course I'd be happy to be proven wrong here)

Buying TTN3 maps for the US now is equally risky - you may be eligible for a free upgrade to v5 maps, or not... (I think it's still too far out)

However, the GO maps for the US are already version 4 maps, and are eligible for a free upgrade to v5. So best would be to contact TomTom again and ask them to sell you the v4 GO maps on SD.

Still no joy

"The preloaded USA SD card have been removed off the website as we make room for new software and maps which will introduced in the upcoming weeks. We do not know if Canadian maps will also become available this year so keep an eye on our website in the upcoming months."

We see you’re using an ad-blocker. We’re fine with that and won’t stop you visiting the site.
