Please, I need help.

I can't get TTN to be stable! I have a Dell Axim X50v, a SiRF/NMEA CF GPS and TTN2004 (4.44). I was using them fine yesterday, and today I updated the ROM on the Axim and I had to reinstall everything. Now (AGAIN) I can't get the GPS to work with TomTom again.

The GPS control panel (TomTom ~ GPS) Can see the GPS in both NMEA 4800 and SiRF 9600. But when I open TomTom, it only says "No GPS Device!". Even when selecting "Other Cable NMEA GPS" and selecting "CF_CARD GENERIC", the GPS lights up for about 5 seconds, then turns off.

Why can TomTom's own GPS Control Panel see the GPS, but the program can???

I don't understand why it worked yesterday and not today.

Please help me.
Thank You

I have a CF GPS as well and have had lots of problems with TTN2004 (they say on their website that the program does not officially support CF Card GPS). But at last I do have mine working consistently.

One suggestion I have is make sure that your CF_CARD is in NMEA mode before starting TTN2004. I seem to recall in the past that if I switched my GPS to Sirf and then tried to use it with an application that didn't support Sirf it would not work because the software did not know to command the GPS back over to NMEA mode. I don't think TTN2004 supports Sirf (though as you say the Tom Tom GPS utility does) so try this: Start up your Tom Tom GPS utility and connect to your GPS using NMEA 4800. After your GPS gets a fix, exit the GPS control panel and then start up TTN2004 and resetup your GPS in TTN2004 as "Other Cable NMEA GPS" and "CF_CARD_GENERIC".
